sawa-pan : Sawako Kaijima and Panagiotis Michalatos

Japanese and Greek, collaborating since 2006

In their work Sawako Kaijima and Panagiotis Michalatos employ digital technology to create subtle ruptures in the culture surrounding art, architecture, and engineering. They studied media and architecture and throughout the years have been involved in research and teaching at academic institutions including Harvard University and Cornell University.

Using a range of media, including digital, painting, sculpture, and installation, the duo explores the productive conflict between human and artificial perception.
